St. Luke Sunday Confirmation gathers on scheduled Sundays from 8:30 am - 9:15 am for youth that are in 7th grade and older from September through May. Confirmation affirms the promises made during confirmand's rite of Baptism.

Our teachings are designed to help our youth understand these promises, so they can keep them throughout their lives as followers of Jesus Christ.  It is our hope each one creates real, lasting connections with others while strengthening your relationship with Jesus.  We pray that our students and families will be impacted in such a way that they are transformed through a personal relationship with Jesus through their life.

From Pastor Dave - August 2023:

Confirmation class is based on Luther's Small catechism. The classes typically include a fun ice-breaker activity, a worksheet on the day's topic, discussion, an opportunity to look up bible verses, prayer, and memory work for the student to recite to his/her parent.

We know not every child can attend every Sunday class, so Pastor will send out the worksheets following each class and ask that the student goes over it with his/her mom/dad during the following week.

In addition to the Sunday Class we ask that the children and parent(s) attend weekly Sunday worship, or watch it on the video broadcast. We ask the confirmands to write a sermon note once/month. I have the sermon notes down at our class area.

We also ask that the students attend fun church youth fellowship events that the church offers throughout the year, and that they
volunteer to help with a service project for the church - some opportunities may be reading at worship, helping greet, providing special music during worship, help with ushering, help with a community project organized by the church, some of the second year confirmands run the worship video camera. We want this to be a full year in which the confirmands grow in faith, wisdom, and grace.

St. Luke is energized by fun, light-hearted engagement in our faith and life.  Our youth group offers a variety of opportunities for youth to grow in and explore their faith.  Our youth group is open to young teens (6th grade) through young adults (high school).

One of the most powerful events, offered every third year, is the ELCA Youth Gathering, during which tens of thousands of high school youth and adults meet to serve, worship and learn how to lead lives of discipleship.   This event was cancelled for 2022.
